Meet the Community : Phil Walton

Agile Cloud Consulting was started by Salesforce MVP Sharif Shaalan with a vision of bringing together tailor fit teams for each individual project to ensure success. After years of helping organizations bring together people, process, and technology it was obvious that “people” is the glue that holds things together. This series gives you a closer look at some of the superstars of the Trailblazer Community!

Wanna know some fun facts about a Trailblazer Community member?

He started working on the Salesforce platform in 2004, runs his local Admin Trailblazer Community, and has written his Tip Of The Week blog every single Friday for over 8 years. 1.       What’s A Great Book You’ve Read Recently?

My one positive habit formed during the pandemic is reading! I have gone though a stack of great books, some business books, some general education, and even some old sci-fi books I found in the trash(!?). I re-read Stephen Hawking’s ‘A Brief History of Time’ which I think everyone should read! I also enjoyed ‘The Barcelona Way’ by Damian Hughes which merges my passions of business, a winning culture, and football (soccer).

2.       What Game Are You Really Good At?

I have never been beaten at Chess. Although I sometimes feel my 4 year old may be letting me win.

3.       What Are Your 3 Favorite Movies?

Since having 2 kids I don’t watch get the chance to choose what is played on my screens. But if I did get a couple of hours, for a change I would choose something that nobody else likes…maybe some Bruce Lee movies, 1950’s Sci-Fi like The Day the Earth Stood Still’ or ‘War of the Worlds’, by then the kids would demand the screen and I would happily watch ‘The Spongebob Squarepants Movie’ with them!

4.       If you had to choose one, what would be your favorite fruit?

Bananas. The fruit that comes ready wrapped in it’s own eco-friendly packaging.

5.       What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?

Probably none.

6.       Do you like pineapple on your pizza?

I will eat pretty much anything!

7.       What is your dream vacation?

During this pandemic I feel like a trip to the local shop would be a dream vacation! But, when it is safe to do so, I look forward to travelling with the family in Europe. Somewhere sunny, not too far away, so the kids don’t get bored on the flight, with a beach, nearby mountains, and lots of kid-friendly restaurants. If the family is happy then I am happy.

8.       Would you rather have a huge imagination or a photographic memory?

Along with modesty, these are 2 of my other superpowers 😉

9.       If you could take just one thing with you to a deserted island, what would you choose?

Probably Bear Grylls! Actually I love survival programs/books, so I think I would do ok for a while! Bear Grylls, Ray Mears, Cody Lundin etc all seem to answer this with ‘a sharp knife/machete’, so I will take their advice!

10.   What does the perfect day look like?

Take the kids to school, catch up with the Galacticos team, then go for a run at lunch (in the sun, with nobody else out on my route). Win a couple of new projects in the afternoon. Then after a nice family meal, walk down to Old Trafford Stadium to watch Manchester United win a match from my private box with some friends. Is that really too much to ask??
