At Agile Cloud Consulting, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. One way we demonstrate this is through our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) policy, which grants each employee 24 hours annually to dedicate to a cause of their choice.
Becca Davis, Senior Consultant at Agile, uses her VTO to lead a regional women’s giving circle in Northeast Tennessee. She is the founder of 100+ Tri-Cities Women Who Care, an organization that empowers women to make a meaningful local impact through collective philanthropy.
The Impact of Collective Giving
In the past six years, the giving circle has donated $250,000 to nonprofits across the Appalachian Highlands region. Members nominate local charities to receive funds and contribute during multiple “Big Give” events each year. A foundation partner further amplifies these efforts by matching 50% of each donation.
The group is currently conducting its 20th Big Give in support of a nonprofit that assists living organ donors facing financial hardship. Last fall, the giving circle donated funds to help open a homeless shelter. Other previous nonprofit recipients include a domestic violence safe house, a community cafe, and a home repair coalition.
Agile’s Support Makes It Possible
The flexibility provided by Agile’s VTO policy has been instrumental in allowing Becca to dedicate time to lead this cause. Whether it’s coordinating events, communicating with giving circle members, or engaging with local nonprofits, the ability to volunteer during work hours ensures that Becca can lead the initiative effectively while maintaining a healthy work-life balance as she and her husband raise two elementary-aged children.
